Dear Logos Family,

“For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (ESV)

Jennifer and I sat down this week and cast our ballots for elected representatives in our state. Thankfully, our vote is not all the influence we can exert on the turbulent political situation we find ourselves in as a nation. Our most powerful weapon is prayer!

In prayer we wage the real warfare. Through prayer we tap into the One who is all power, who has the capacity to destroy spiritual strongholds. We know the devil came to “kill, steal and destroy.” (John 10:9) He is both the “deceiver of the whole world” and the “accuser of the brethren” (Rev 12:9-10).  While there are many lies and deceptive words spoken daily on radio, TV and social media, our God can destroy all “arguments and lofty opinions.”

I feel this is a very pivotal time in our nation’s history. We need the King of Heaven and Earth to act.  Fortunately, Jesus is ever interceding on our behalf. (Hebrews 7:25) The Spirit helps us in our weakness and intercedes for us according to the will of God. (Romans 8:26-8).

I am preaching a new series entitled “Jesus and Lost People.” We have so many in our nation that are spiritually lost. We need a spiritual revival for the sake of those who do not know Christ. So now is the time to be in prayer.

Start with those in your own circle of influence who do not know Christ. Lift up their names to the throne of heaven as often as you think of them. Know that they are loved by God the Father and that He desires for none to perish. (2 Peter 3:9) Remember, lost people matter to God!

Grace and peace,

Pastor Bill
